Thanks a lot for the feedback! Very glad you liked it!

If you're really motivated for writing symphonic music, I would definitely recommend it. If you look around you should be able to get it at an ok price. I know a lot of people on here swear to Garritan Personal Orchestra for budget orchestration, but when listening to demo songs, EWQL has the sort of production that I want for my music.

You do get a very limited amount of articulations with the Silver package, but the great thing is, it's affordable if you want to try out the whole orchestration thing, and if you decide it's for you, you can upgrade to Gold at any time.

As for Symphonic Choirs, that's another EWQL product I wish I had the money and excuse to buy ; I upgraded to a quad core from a dual core only a few weeks ago as I was working on some mixes that my dual core was unable to play back too many tracks and effects.

I am extremely satisfied with my quad core. It's not a massive project, but I am very satisfied that I can run a project like this and still record everything with 5ms latency of course that's also thanks to sound card drivers. I have one of the cheapest Quad Cores you can find on eBay. I'm sure a specialized DAW-built PC would perform even better, but I just have to say I'm extremely satisfied with the switch from dual core to quad core.

I didn't think I would notice that much of a change ; Again, thanks for the feedback! Hi Jon, Great work considering you are only new at this.

Are you into Symphonic black metal by any chance such as Dimmu Borgir. This would sound great with really fast metal guitars. I would love to have that software you are using. It sounds absolutely amazing. Believe me I am drooling here listening to this. Its just what I want for my music. Hi Stevethesearcher, Thanks for the feedback! Some retailers you can ask for a deal like I did. You'll need an iLok, though. The iLok drivers have not been causing me any problems, but it is annoying wasting a usb port on a copy protection dongle.

I'd say the software is worth the sacrifice, though ;. I really like the arrangement I cut my teeth on orchestral music and was a classical musician for many years. One noteworthy piece of advice I might give you is to keep in mind that these instruments do not have a volume knob, and some instruments are very limited in volume and punch.

There is a point in your recording no timer on the widget where you have bassoons at the same volume as somme brass with a lot of bell ring meaning they are being played LOUD!! In the real world, there is no way a bassoon can keep up with a fortissimo trombone. The realism is more there towards the end, but the piece lacks dynamic range. There are periods of sparsity, but there is no commensurate volume decrease when just a few intimate instruments are playing a passage.

The arrangement is great! I'd like to hear this again if you decide to revisit it. Landon Johnson. Hi landonjohnson, Thanks a lot for the feedback! I did buy a book on orchestration, but I haven't had time to read much, so at the moment when I'm composing I just have to live with the fact that I am a bit clueless and go with my ears.
